A New Era for DU Students
In a significant move to enhance the student experience, Delhi University has officially unveiled ‘Prerna Bhawan’, a spectacular new student activity center. Inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh, the building is strategically located on the Faculty of Social Sciences campus. During the opening ceremony, the VC emphasized that the center is designed to be a source of inspiration and a vibrant hub for all student-centric activities, fostering a dynamic campus culture.
What’s Inside the Game-Changing Facility?
This multi-level building is packed with features to cater to every student’s needs. The ground floor boasts a modern cafeteria with seating for over 50 people, perfect for catching up with friends between classes. For fitness enthusiasts and gamers, the basement features a fully-equipped gymnasium and a dedicated games zone, providing a perfect outlet for stress relief and fun.
Academics and collaboration are also a top priority. The first floor contains a large seminar hall with a capacity of 120, ideal for workshops and events. Meanwhile, the third floor is home to a serene library and reading hall, offering a quiet space for study and research. Every floor is also equipped with modern and accessible toilet facilities.
A Hub for Student Leadership
Recognizing the crucial role of student governance, the second floor of ‘Prerna Bhawan’ is dedicated entirely to the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU). It includes separate, well-appointed offices for the DUSU president, vice-president, secretary, and joint secretary. This dedicated space, complete with a meeting room and pantry, will empower student leaders to work more effectively for the welfare of the entire student body.
