The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has officially opened its doors for MTech admissions for the upcoming academic session. Aspiring engineers who have successfully qualified the GATE 2026 examination are invited to submit their applications for a range of cutting-edge specializations. Key Eligibility and Program Details

Admission is open for several MTech programs, including Structural Engineering, VLSI, Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Power Electronics and Drives, and Biotechnology. A valid GATE scorecard in the relevant discipline is the primary requirement for most applicants. However, there’s good news for some IIT graduates. Students graduating from any IIT with a BTech degree and a CGPA of 7.5 or higher are exempt from the GATE score requirement, with CGPA relaxations available for reserved categories (7.0 for OBC-NCL and 6.5 for SC/ST/PwD).

How to Apply: A Step-by-Step Guide

The application process is entirely online and requires a two-step registration. First, candidates must register on the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP), as the COAP registration number is mandatory for filling the application form. Following this, applicants must complete the final application on IIT Mandi’s official SAMARTH portal before the April 17 deadline. The application fee is a nominal INR 200 for General/EWS/OBC candidates and INR 100 for Women/SC/ST/PwD applicants. The final selection will be based on GATE performance, academic records, and may include a written test or interview, with results being declared on the COAP portal.
