There is NO EXACT EQUIVALENT of IPC 377 in the BNS. Consensual same-sex relations were decriminalised by the Supreme Court (Navtej Singh Johar case). Non-consensual acts against women are covered under Rape (BNS 63). Unnatural acts with animals (Bestiality) do not have a specific named section, creating a legal grey area.

BNS में IPC 377 का अंत! (Unnatural Offences Omitted)। पुरानी IPC 377 'अप्राकृतिक सेक्स (Unnatural Sex / homosexuality)' को 10 साल की सजा वाला अपराध मानती थी। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने 2018 में दो वयस्कों (Adults) के बीच 'सहमति' से बने समलैंगिक संबंधों को अपराध की श्रेणी से बाहर कर दिया था। नए कानून (BNS) में इस धारा (377) को पूरी तरह 'हटा (Omit)' दिया गया है। अगर महिला के साथ ज़बरदस्ती अननैचुरल कृत्य होता है, तो वह BNS 63 (Rape) में कवर होगा। लेकिन पशुओं के साथ कृत्य (Bestiality) या पुरुषों के बीच नॉन-कंसेंशियल कृत्य के लिए स्पष्ट धारा का अभाव (Grey area) है।
